SUPERMARKET PRODUCE NOT SO SUPER
PaknSave, Upper Hutt is my go to supermarket but always some of their fruit and vegetables are second or third level quality.
Tasteless summer fruit, over ripe bananas, over soft fruit, vegetables that are on their last leg, lemons that squeeze no juice - the list goes on.
Mostly nothing seems consistently good or not so good.
The store had weeks and weeks of packaged potatoes that were just awful. I would take them back and have them replaced. But in recent times this situation has been resolved at least for the moment with better quality.
There are occasions when one feels certain produce should not be displayed for sale or given away free (which will never happen).
Interestingly PaknSave's sister supermarket New World a few kilometres away in Silverstream has so much superior quality produce admittedly usually at a more expensive price.
Obviously the purchase management of each store has control of the quality they buy to resell though I would expect that some produce is take it or nothing else is available.

Poll: Would you use a pet cemetery?
Dave Stephens has created a pet cemetery on his land.
The 10-acre site in Albany, Auckland, features graves nestled among beautifully manicured gardens and unique art pieces, offering a serene space where visitors can pay their respects in their own way.
