Most disappointing amenities in Upper Hutt
/SILVERSTREAM'S MCDONALD'S.Thoughts were that this was to be a state of the art McDonald's but instead its a boring boxy establishment. The burnt-down McDonald's on the same site was much better and came with a cafe garden.
/ MONTERAY MOVIE COMPLEX. Comfortable theatres but services, high costs and lack lustre restaurant/cafe leave much to be desired.
/ NEW RETAIL STORE IN CBD. This replacement for the burnt-down Hallensteins shop is just a single storey thus missing the opportunity to create apartments above the retail space and set-up the CBD for a mix of retail etc and accommodation/living quarters.
/ THE MALL. Third rate and so does not provide for an exciting, creative and interesting place to visit that set's it apart from others.
