NZ Best Liveable Country in World
NZ is ranked the world's most happiest, safest, free-est and prosperous country in the world for the fourth successive year and the fifth time since 2009.
The Global Prosperity Index is produced annually by the London-based Legatum Institute.
There are nine components to determine the rankings - economic quality, business, governance, education, health, safety, personal freedom, social and environment.
The top five for 2016 are: NZ, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Canada.
The USA is ranked 17th.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
