The last few weeks have been particularly cold, especially here in Wellington! Usually the coldest nights are followed by brilliant clear days, with the sun out in full force! π₯Άπ
Vitamin D is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in maintaining overall wellness & supporting immune function. π§ββοΈπ¦
Vitamin D deficiency can have a variety of impacts on the body, including:
β Bone weakness & increased risk of osteoporosis
β Muscle weakness & pain
β Impaired immune function
β Mood disorders
β Increased risk of chronic health conditions
While it can be obtained through certain dietary sources and supplementation, sunlight exposure is a primary and natural way for the body to absorb, synthesise, and utilise Vitamin D!
Key Tip π:
Getting outside for natural light exposure in the morning is an great way to get the day started, and get the Vit D intake! Try couple this with a 30 minute walk so you nail your movement goal too!
