Former Upper Hutt residents facing charges in Australia
Two friends originally from Upper Hutt are facing more than 140 charges relating to a sophisticated car scam involving the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars from Queensland motorists.
The Queensland Times reports Kimberley Deans, 19, and Wolf Cameron, 23, were two of four people charged by Queensland Police in July over the fraudulent sale of vehicles across Brisbane, Logan and the Gold Coast.
Queensland Police allege they were part of a group which altered the vehicle identification numbers on stolen and written-off cars before selling them to unsuspecting buyers.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
