Many of you may be wondering if this impacts you.

The South Waikato District Council have just put out the below statement.
"We can confirm from our infrastructure and maintenance department that there is no danger to South Waikato urban residents and their water supply.
“While there are concerns that the spill is travelling north into the Waikato River, SWDC can assure residents that our urban water comes from secure bores with the exception of the Blue Spring – which comes from the Waihou catchment and is not connected to the Waikato River,” said Assets Group Manager Ted Anderson.
“Our water goes through the process of microfiltration and UV disinfection. In addition, chlorine is added.”

There would continue to be constant monitoring of the risk, he said.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
