Te Puna Village Commercial Area - Community Open Day tomorrow!
Don't forget! Tomorrow is the first of two community open days hosted by Western Bay of Plenty District Council at Te Puna Village for the community to share their views on the future of the Te Puna Village commercial area.
Open days will be on Saturday 27 October, 9am to 12pm and Tuesday 30 October, 4pm to 7pm at the Red Shed (upstairs) behind Farmlands, off Minden Road in Te Puna.
The open days aim to identify what the community wants for the commercial area so that Council can use this information to inform decision making on the area's future.
The area being considered includes all of the businesses located in and around the intersection of State Highway 2 with Te Puna and Minden roads.
See you there!
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
