To Fluoride or not to fluoride?
There has been debates about this subject over the years and as I remember most people were against it, so it was shelved. Now the government is blackmailing us by saying if we don't have it in the water by the 26th of October they will fine the Council $200,000 then $10,000 per day after the deadline. I personally think that it is disgraceful to make this compulsory mass medication on the say so of the Dental association, who are focused solely on dental hygiene and not on the fact that we will be forced to swallow a highly toxic heavy metal byproduct of the Aluminium smelting process. Look back to recent problems with this toxic waste being stored around the district adjacent to the Bluff smelter, lying in derelict buildings because there is nowhere safe to dispose of it. Mahe Drysdale is opposed to it, yet he was outvoted by the rest of the Council. There has been no public consultation on this highly controversial issue which has been declined in the past for the above reasons. I thought mass medication was a thing of the past, outlawed because of the lack of freedom of choice after WW2 and the Nazi's use of it.
