Ways to address your concerns

Communications from Tauranga City Council

If your property has been identified as being affected by plan change 27 – flooding from intense rainfall, there are multiple ways to address your concerns:

1) Seek a review of the flooding risk that has been identified for your property.

Email city.plan@tauranga.govt.nz with the relevant property information and a waters engineer will review the situation. The maps provided at www.tauranga.govt.nz... are non-statutory and can be reviewed to take account of any property-specific information, outside of the plan change submission process.

2) Make a submission on the proposed plan change provisions.

To make a submission, submit your feedback online at www.tauranga.govt.nz... pick up a copy at council’s customer service centre or the city’s libraries and email it to city.plan@tauranga.govt.nz; or post it to Manager: City and Infrastructure Planning, Tauranga City Council, Freepost Authority Number 370, Private Bag 12022, Tauranga 3143. Submissions are open until 1 February 2021.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
