Removing wet wipe blockages cost ratepayers an estimated $168,000 last financial year.
The blockages - such as one that caused a sewerage overflow in Pilot Bay and closed the popular swimming spot for a week at the height of summer - could cause damage to both the environment and the Tauranga's reputation as a tourism destination.
The council has also started lobbying the Government to ban "misleading" words such as "flushable" and "biodegradable" from being used to market wet wipes made mostly from plastic.
Wet wipes were usually made of a fabric woven together with plastic resins such as polyester or polypropylene, which were not biodegradable.

The Transport Agency would like to remind motorists this is a hazardous operation that requires all traffic to be stopped while each tree is felled. Stop/Go traffic management will be in place, with a 30km/h temporary speed limit through the work site.
Northbound light vehicles/cars will be required to use the fully signed detour route to minimise their delay and allow the work to be carried out more quickly. The detour route is Left into Youngson Road, Right into Old Highway, Right into Esdaile Road to return to SH2. Read more here.

This is a very common occurrence as most of us don't realise glass is subject to corrosion just like any other external building material.
ClearShield glass protection is a must too not only protect your investment but also to make the most of your asset as your viewing experience will be enhanced with ClearShield.

We managed to get it out and has been taken to Mount Vets however they are unable to treat it for its broken leg and possible internal injuries as we have been unable to find the owner. The cat was found at 25 Percy Road Papamoa Beach and is known to the area. It is a black male with white socks it has NOT been desexed . Have been door knocking but no success so far. PLEASE get in contact with the Bayfair Vets. There is also a Facebook post on Papamoa Link regarding this so if you can please share or tag your neighbours that would be appreciated. Thanks everyone
