Less than 24 hours left before voting for the local election closes. This election will decide who will represent you and make decisions on your behalf over the next three years. It's important stuff - have your say in this!
Too late to post your voting papers now, but you can drop them off in a ballot box in libraries (Tauranga Central, Greerton, Papamoa and Mount Maunganui) or at our Customer Service Centre at 91 Willow Street. All will be open Saturday morning (8am-12pm for the Customer Service Centre, libraries from 9.30am). Voting will close at 12pm sharp on Saturday. Get in there!

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
