Red Cross Disaster Welfare Support Volunteer - Bay of Plenty
Support your community before and during an emergency. Join your local Disaster Welfare and Support Team (DWST). We are planning an information evening for interested applicants on Monday 29th July, 2024
**Key Duties**
You could be deployed to assist in a flood, fire or other large-scale emergencies, and you’ll help with a range of activities that could include:
- Setting up and providing support in evacuation centers
- Undertaking needs assessments to understand what support people need
- Providing psychosocial support
**Volunteer requirements for DWST**
- 16+ Years Old
- Physically fit
- A good communicator
- Able to commit to your team for at least 12 months
- Able to pass New Zealand Police Check (support Services child/youth)
- Able to provide 2 referees for character check
