Celebrate NZ's achievement on Nuclear Prohibition

Gray from Gate Pa

We know we live in a very special country – just look at COVID!
But there are also other reasons. For decades we have been fighting a long battle against nuclear annihilation, and in a few days (21 January) an amazing treaty will come into effect; the TPNW (Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons). No, it won’t make all the weapons disappear immediately, but it will mean that nearly two thirds of the world’s nations are telling the nuclear weapons states that that is what needs to happen. NZ has taken a strong leadership role in getting to this stage with our Disarmament Ambassador, Dell Higgie. This is an historic achievement, so join in the great celebration of this event on Thursday, 21st January, 12.20-2.30pm on-line.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
