Renters: Have you ever been asked for your bank statements?

Robert Steven Reporter from Taupō Times

Property managers in Auckland have been asking for bank statements from people trying to get into rental homes.

NZ First MP Darroch Ball says:
“The vulnerable, poor, young and desperate are being forced into forgoing their privacy in order to have the chance to secure a property."

*** Has this happened to you in Taupō? What have you been asked for, if anything? How do you feel about it?

Email us robert.steven@stuff.co.nz, or call 027 204 2904 and tell me about it, or comment below. Write NFP [not for print] beside your comment if you don't want it used in news story. ****

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

Georgina's Rhubarb Crumble

Kiri Te Kanawa Retirement Village

Craving a dessert that makes the most of spring's fresh produce? Look no further than Georgina's signature Rhubarb Crumble.

This delicious treat has become a favourite at Ryman’s Bert Sutcliffe Village, where the sweet and tangy aroma often wafts through the air, tempting neighbours in for a taste. It’s also a hit with Georgina's 13-year-old granddaughter, Brooklyn, who loves serving it warm with gooey custard or a scoop of melting vanilla ice cream.
