Green light given for new Council building
The green light has been given for a new Taupo District Council building to replace the Lake Terrace office but the council has stopped short of selecting a site, instead opting to undertake further investigations.
It will also seek expressions of interest from parties who may be interested in leasing a building to the council, selling land for the council to buy, or a combination of both.

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
