Volunteers - North Canterbury Riding for the Disabled
Are you looking for something to give back to the community - what about volunteering for North Canterbury Riding for the Disabled? If you are a "horse" person, or even if you are not, this is an amazing organization full of wonderful people who are dedicated to helping those of us who are less able have some enjoyment. It has been long proven that riding has so many benefits, physically, psychologically, emotionally, educationally and most of all so good for the self-esteem of those with challenges. We have riding sessions on a Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday and you commitment would only be for 1-3 hours on one of those days. Come and join us. Telephone Lin Bisman 03 3120998 for further details
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
