Parking wardens return to Rangiora to help with Christmas shopping influx
Rangiora drivers beware – parking wardens are returning to the Durham St car park this summer.
The car park is frequently used for all-day parking by people who work locally, and the area has mostly been left unmonitored during the slower winter months.
Waimakariri District Council environmental services manager Malcolm Johnston says the council will now start enforcing the two-hour time limit to free up parking for Christmas shoppers.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
