Canterbury cattle breeders named local heroes

A North Canterbury couple have been acknowledged for their work teaching high school students how to handle animals safely.

Kay and Philip Worthington, who own Woolstone Park Lowline cattle stud near Rangiora, are recipients of this year's Kiwibank New Zealand Local Hero Medal.

"The best feeling [is] seeing these kids go and do something with the the skills they have learnt," Kay says.

Ōtukaikino - Living Memorial Service

Join us for an afternoon of music, song and remembrance, as we remember our loved ones at Ōtukaikino. Our annual ceremony is unique in that it is conducted outdoors and will be held rain or shine. You are welcome to bring your family and friends. Car parking is provided and refreshments will be served. You may need warm clothing and sturdy footwear.
