In uncertain times in many workplaces, there are feel-good stories! Blue Mountain Nurseries in Tapanui are offering two apprenticeships training towards the National Certificate in Nursery Production. Applications close Friday 5th June.

General Manager of Blue Mountain Nurseries, Chris Hughes, is committed to education and has taken an active part in learning programmes through the Primary Industry Training Organisation.

“Coming out of lockdown, it was clear we needed more staff, but as a small workplace we wanted to attract the right people. Training towards nationally recognised qualifications is a way to do this. All our staff will be involved with the training, support and assessment of the apprentices, which adds richness and diversity to our business. This will be a team effort and a unique opportunity for apprentices to earn and learn”.

With a passion for plants since 1932, Blue Mountain Nurseries we have a reputation for quality plants and innovative breeding programmes all underpinned by years of training and qualifications.
