Are you Looking For a Xmas Side Hustle?

John from Warkworth

So, you've got a job, maybe a full plate, but you’re staring at your bank account thinking, "Hmm, I could use a little extra cash. Or a lot. But I don't want to spend every free minute working my life away."
Sound familiar? You're definitely not alone.
Here’s the thing: Everyone loves the idea of a side hustle. We’ve all seen those articles about people making a full-time income from their side gig or living the dream on their own terms. But before you dive in headfirst and start googling “how to make money from home,” let’s get one thing straight: a side hustle isn’t just about “making more money” – it’s about finding a way to make your time work for you.

Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.

Baby bird raising

Jodie from Hatfields Beach

Hi neighbours
That time of the year where fledglings fall from their nests.. I know there’s lots of birds out there but it still breaks my heart. Does anyone know of a local ‘bird’ rescuer who can help them whilst they find their feet. I have one in my garden at present. Happy to donate pronurtar and can drop off. Does anyone know of somebody? Would appreciate your help. Cheers
