Last year, I planted a single pumpkin seed, expecting a modest little vine. But nature had other plans. That tiny seed took off like a rocket, sprawling across the garden, climbing fences, and even sneaking into the neighbor’s yard.
By autumn, it had claimed half the garden, and the pumpkins—oh, the pumpkins!—hid under leaves like golden treasures. Some grew perfectly round, others twisted into odd, charming shapes.
When harvest time came, I had more than I knew what to do with. So I shared. Soup for friends, roasted seeds for snacks, and surprise doorstep deliveries for neighbours. One seed, one plant, but a whole season of abundance and connection.
Gardening always surprises me. What started as a simple planting turned into a reminder—nature gives generously, and so should we. 💚

Last week we had a fabulous time traveling to Whitford, Auckland where we first had a delicious lunch at The Lime Tree Cafe, salt and pepper squid, phyllo parcels, chowder and so much more.
We then travelled a short way up the road to the world-famous Ayrlies Garden where we were given a warm welcome by our host Luana before taking a relaxed stroll through the gardens filled with beautiful water features, stretching lawns, and gardens brimming with familiar and unfamilar plants.
To finish off the trim it was ice cream in a cone as we came back into Silverdale.
I look forward to our next trip in April.

Would you like to know what 2025 has in store for you ? A new romance perhaps ? Moving house ? Different job ? Would you like to receive a message from a loved one who has passed ?
Interested ? Then come along to our next meeting this Wednesday, March 19th, 7:30pm start, in the Theosophical Society Hall, 9e, Annalise Place, off Forest Glen, off Puriri Avenue, Orewa. There is a large car park next to the hall.
We are "The Hibiscus Spiritual Awakening and Healing Centre", a non-profit organisation run by friendly volunteers, and we charge only $5 each to cover costs, including hiring the hall. Meetings are held fortnightly, with a different medium each time. It's always nice to see that people new to us are very often chosen for a reading on their first visit.
In a pleasant, relaxing atmosphere people receive amazing, enlightening, and very comforting messages, as well as good advice. Look us up on Facebook. Come along and check us out. And, whether you are young, or not so young,
ALL ARE WELCOME❗
