Ali from Lynmore

When: 10am Wednesday April 17, 2019. Doors open at 9.30 with refreshments.

New Zealand-trained and Rotorua-based, Annette is an innovative teacher and speech language therapist who works alongside parents and teachers with students who have difficulties in the area of speech, language and literacy development.

She will explain how and why our communication skills are constantly evolving to meet the various stages in our lives.

But this process is often taken for granted. Many people struggle for a variety of reasons and the resulting effects on their lives can be huge.

Annette will present an overview of the importance of acquiring early language, a process she links to the transition to literacy.

Believing that having fun is a prime motivator, Annette weaves humour into her work and her presentations.

Visitors welcome. Gold coin entry for U3A guests.
