Schools fear job cuts without timeline for return of international students
High school principals in the Nelson region say they will be forced to consider cutting staff and programmes if they don't have a timeline soon for a return of international students.The principals say there is capacity in the region for the students to quarantine here, and the Government needs to make a decision about how the students can be brought back in safely. This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
