Wow that's clever
Captain James Cook was renowned for his leadership skills, and in particular for sailing around the world without losing a single man to scurvy (for which he won the Copley Medal in 1776).
When Cook and the Endeavour arrived in New Zealand, he came across our native brassica Lepidium oleraceum (later dubbed Cook's Scurvy Grass) which he found particularly effective.
