After-hours health care centre to open in Rangiora in late 2022
The North Canterbury community of Rangiora is celebrating a win after a long and patient wait for better health care access.
The minister of health approved the Canterbury District Health Board’s proposal to lease land to the South Link Health Services Group to build and operate a family health and urgent care centre.
Waimakariri MP Matt Doocey said the news was an exciting milestone for residents, and he acknowledged their combined efforts to get it over the line. Read more here.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
