Opening three new multimillion-dollar hotels in Queenstown to come with 'challenges'

Nicole Mathewson Reporter from Otago News

Opening three new multimillion-dollar hotels in Queenstown – before international tourism resumes – will come with “challenges”, hoteliers say.

A 120-room Sudima Hotel will open its doors in the Five Mile precinct in Frankton on December 23.

It will be the third hotel to open in the Wakatipu Basin in the space of a month, following the 41-room Quest Queenstown at Frankton's Remarkables Park in November, and the 182-room Holiday Inn, also at Remarkables Park, on Monday.

Sudima Hotels New Zealand chief operating officer Les Morgan was realistic about what the next year might look like for the 4.5-star hotel, saying they would operate “leanly” until the border opened up again. Read more here.
