Government launches shared home ownership scheme for families that can't save a deposit
The Government is launching a “shared ownership” scheme to help lower income families into homes.
The First Home Partner scheme would be run by Kāinga Ora, which would take an equity share in a property to assist first home buyers who could service a mortgage, but need help raising their deposit.
Funding for 50 shared ownership homes had been approved to be built by Habitat for Humanity and Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust.
The funding had been approved by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga.
