Porirua mayoral candidate linked to anti-vaccination group

Gible from Whitby

A Porirua mayoralty candidate has co-hosted webinars with an anti-vaccination/anti-mandate group and shared conspiracy theories and disinformation on social media.

Nicole Foss, an economist originally from Canada who previously lived at the failed Atamai eco village in Nelson’s Motueka Valley, is also running for a council seat for the Pāuatahanui ward.

She appeared on five videos on the Voices For Freedom (VFF) website in June and July – alongside one of the group’s co-founder Alia Bland – where she made references to conspiracy theories like the New World Order.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
