Update on today's train chaos

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Wellington train commuters will face significant disruption to their travels because of urgent mechanical work needed on train carriages.

Transdev spokeswoman Emily Liddell said Johnsonville's train service has been reduced to one running every 30 minutes and no trains would be running on the Melling line.

The Melling line service will be replaced with a shuttle bus running between Petone and Melling.

The urgent mechanical inspections are expected to impact peak commuter times today in the morning and afternoon. Read more here
