Tawa Lions Saturday Market
The weather lately is starting to slowly improve so shopping at Tawa Lions Saturday Market is very pleasant in the sunshine and a great place to spend half an hour stocking up your fresh veges, eggs, honey and various produce and products from local community stalls on the day.
This week our Honey Stall will have Liquid and Creamed Meadow, plus the popular Bush varieties. We are also continuing free taste-testing with Waireka Rewarewa honey. We also have our usual range of eggs, along with some supplies of jam from Suzette at Idle Kitchen, all while stocks last so come early to avoid disappointment.
Our main supplier - Helens Honey - is consolidating production to Bush only. We will continue to regularly stock creamed Bush, with all other flavours available if and when we are supplied by Helen.
We are continuing to search for replacement products - as per the Waireka product currently available - but Helen provides an unbeatable deal on quantity and quality."
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.

The Hikoi on Tuesday 19th
I copied this from a Facebook page: The expected route of the hīkoi on Tuesday is from Takapuwahia Maree in Esldon towards Porirua and along Kenepuru Drive to Tawa, then up Middleton Road to Johnsonville, down Ngaraunga George and along the old Hutt Road to Wellington. They are anticipating significant congestion on the roads between 06.00am and 12.30pm.
