Disgusting mess in Grasslees Park

Michael from Tawa

It is very disappointing to see how some users of the park are abusing the wonderful facility provided by the Council. Walked through there tonight and found the place strewn with rubbish, and the BBQ area littered with bottles and other mess. Most of the plastic will blow into the stream and out to sea. I pick up litter every time I walk, and can't pick it all up, but this is just beyond me. I really despair of people. Put your rubbish in bins, or if the bins are full, take it home. Better still, think first and minimise your waste. But thinking is clearly beyond some. I see an elderly gent who spends a lot of time cleaning up round Tawa as a voluntary community act. What must he think when he sees this. Council have been informed.
