Mulled Wine Concerts annual fundraiser in Paekakariki is kicking off their 2022 season featuring New Zealand's premier jazzman, Rodger Fox, and his seven piece Jazz Ensemble.
Live the classic sounds of the Beatles in a new Jazz 'n Blues performance.
Hear tunes like, Ride My Drive, A Hard Day's Night, Day Tripper, Ticket To Ride, I Saw Her Standing There and others all with a twist of jazz and blues.
Come along and join the Rodger Fox Band - Rodger Fox - Trombone, Erna Ferry - Vocals, James Guilford - Trumpet, Bryn Van Vliet - Saxophone, Ayrton Foote - Keyboards, Gus Reece - Guitar, Rory Macartney - Bass and Lance Philip – Drums.

Rodger Fox is New Zealand’s foremost jazz trombonist, big band leader, jazz educator, arranger and producer. He has promoted and played in live concerts in the Global Festival arena, Montreux Jazz Festival, Monterey Jazz Festival, Manly Jazz Festival, Wichita Jazz Festival.
In 2022 he was made a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for services to music and in 2005 Massey University awarded him an Honorary Doctorate of Music. His various ensembles have released over three dozen full-length albums over the past decades.

Rodger is no stranger to Mulled Wine Concerts and returns to the Memorial Hall on Paekakariki's glorious sea-front on Saturday 29 January in fine form, intending to give his audience a night to swing to!

Sangria (non alcoholic) and water bottles will be available. Remember to bring cash for the raffle. A wide range of prizes, donated by our business community are to be won.

⚠️ DOGS DIE IN HOT CARS. If you love them, don't leave them. ⚠️

It's a message we share time and time again, and this year, we're calling on you to help us spread that message further.
Did you know that calls to SPCA about dogs left inside hot cars made up a whopping 11% of all welfare calls last summer? This is a completely preventable issue, and one which is causing hundreds of dogs (often loved pets) to suffer.
Here are some quick facts to share with the dog owners in your life:

👉 The temperature inside a car can heat to over 50°C in less than 15 minutes.
👉 Parking in the shade and cracking windows does little to help on a warm day. Dogs rely on panting to keep cool, which they can't do in a hot car.
👉 This puts dogs at a high risk of heatstroke - a serious condition for dogs, with a mortality rate between 39%-50%.
👉 It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act to leave a dog in a hot vehicle if they are showing signs of heat stress. You can be fined, and prosecuted.

We encourage you to use these - and ask your local businesses to display the posters if they can. Flyers can be kept in your car and handed out as needed.
