Papakōwhai Rd traffic management and detours
Construction of the new Papakōwhai Rd shared path is underway with traffic management and detours in place. Please use alternative routes and expect delays.
Work will generally take place between 7am – 6pm weekdays, with some weekend and night work possible and is expected to be completed by this winter.
What to expect on Papakōwhai Rd:
•The northbound lane will remain open during most of the work (apart from the occasional night-time detour)
•The southbound lane will be detoured around adjacent roads during some phases of construction.
Other traffic management measures in place include speed restrictions, removal of on-street parking, stop/go and narrowed road widths.
This pathway is 100% funded by the Government’s Transport Choices Programme led by Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency.
