Kapiti Chess Club Juniors Participate in NZ Federation Badge Scheme

Gordon Lyall from Kapiti Chess Club

Junior members of Kapiti Chess Club recently completed the New Zealand Chess Federation Level 1 Badge Test. Achieving this standard demonstrates an understanding of chess fundamentals and prepares the students for more advanced topics.

Kapiti Chess Club runs structured junior chess coaching and provides support to schools and colleges within the Kapiti region.

Junior coaching commences 7pm every Tuesday at the Kapiti Chess Club, located at the Salvation Arm Hall, Bluegum Rd, Paraparaumu.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
