Wellington police need help to identify man

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Police are urgently seeking help to identify a man in a critical condition after an incident in Porirua on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Warspite Avenue about 4pm where a man, described as Māori or Polynesian and in his mid-30s, had "exited" a car.

His identity remains unknown, and police urged anyone with information to come forward. The man is thought to have short black hair and be of a large build. He has a small amount of facial hair on his chin and is around 185cm (6 foot) tall.

Officers were still working to establish the sequence of events which led to the man being hospitalised.

Anyone with information can call Wellington police crime squad on (04) 381 2000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
