I am a registered secondary teacher, living in Tawa, with over 50 years of teaching service in the secondary and tertiary sectors. I recently retired from Wellington College where I was the careers adviser for the past 15 years.
I am now available for students, and families to provide a range of services which include:
Setting career goals, exploring options and opportunities
Post-secondary study options and opportunities, including University, Polytechnics, private training providers, apprenticeships and trade training
CV writing
How to develop a range of skills, qualities and interests necessary to be successful later in life
How to network and respond to employer demands and expectations including research and interview skills
How to be successful in applying for scholarships
How to gain work experience, part time and full time jobs
Weighing up the benefits of Gap years
Developing leadership skills
How to respond to the areas of job and skill shortages in a rapidly changing world
subject choices and where they can lead
My rates are $55 per hour, much less than a plumber or lawyer!
