Timaru Police appeal for information after aggravated robbery

Neighbourly from Neighbourly.co.nz

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated robbery in Timaru last week. Around 5pm on Thursday 11 April Timaru Police were called to an address on Kiwi Drive after the occupant was assaulted and robbed.

A 60-year-old man received cuts and bruising. He was treated in hospital and has since been discharged. The offenders are believed to be two females and a male.

Police are seeking information in relation to any suspicious behaviour on 11 April between 1 and 5pm on Kiwi Drive, in particular in close proximity to Westend Park. We also ask that anyone that may have CCTV footage in the area at that time to contact Police.

Information can be passed on to Sergeant Kevin McErlain on 021 191 2286. Information can also be supplied anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.

Do you think this ban is reasonable?
