Timaru Fire Brigade 150th

We would like to invite you to join us, in Celebrating 150 years of the Timaru Fire Brigade.
Friday Night 6pm: Meet and greet and register at the Brigade canteen, (Registered guests only)

Saturday 26th September 1pm : A street parade of all the past and current Fire Engines, starting at the Woolcoombe street end of Stafford street through to Cannon street, this will be followed by a static displayof all the fire trucks in King George Place out side the Council Building until 4pm.

Saturday Evening: A cabaret including meal, speeches etc. at Timaru Fire Station engine bay. (registered guests only)

Sunday 1pm: Open Day at Timaru station including a display of past equipment, trucks, interactive displays.

Sunday Evening: BBQ at Timaru station and an invitation to browse through our archives files. (registered guests only)

Please note that for the meet and greet, Cabaret dinner and Sunday evening BBQ you MUST be a registered guest.

For the street Parade and open day you are all welcome to just come along on the day.

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?

With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.

This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
