I am a naturalized New Zealander who has his roots in Ukraine and consider both of these Great nations as my home away from home. Just like to thank you all for the overwhelming support and the fact that I see so many Ukrainian flags flying on your flag pols. PEOPLE of KAPITI THANK YOU. It means allot to us and words cannot express how much. It took me a while to thank you but it needed to be said . It brings me to genuine tears every time I see my berth country, my ethnic peoples flag and it reminds me how blessed i am with a lower case i to have been welcomed into NZ Whenau . Thank you .

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
