Only 3 weeks to go to the Waikanae Spring Market on Labour Saturday -

It'll also be the official opening of the newly designed Mahara Place - we'll let you have more details of the prizes and timeframe when we know more, but they include a brilliant family prize -

There'll be lots of ideas from people like Terry and Sam for your Spring garden now the ground is warming up, and Shane's bikes with engines for getting around in the warming weather (how good is that?!) - and of course our inestimable Andy the Butcher!

Make a day of your visit to Waikanae - catch the train and then lunch at our town centre cafes, a walk down the lovely Waikanae River afterwards -

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
