Stepping Out Opens 27th July!

Kapiti Playhouse

Stepping Out comes to Kapiti in July 2023.

A comedy in which 8 people from varying backgrounds, with their own issues, inhibitions and quirks, attend the same weekly tap-dancing class in a dingy church hall. Initially, the students treat the classes as a social occasion. However, when Mavis (the ex-professional), learns her amateur dance class are to perform at a grand charity show, everyone’s determination and abilities are put to the test.

Throughout the play, details of their personal lives are revealed, and relationships are tested and forged. Can these ungainly dancers transform into a cohesive group of tappers in a show worthy of a standing ovation? Can they step up to step out?

Book your tickets today! Show runs Thursday 27th July to Saturday 5th August 2023.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
