Should councillors with convictions be allowed to win their seat back?
Hi neighbours - a former councillor convicted for indecent assault against a council staff member is standing to win his seat back.
While any councillor convicted of a crime carrying a penalty of two years or more imprisonment was disqualified from office, the Local Government and Local Electoral Act did not prevent them - or anyone with a conviction - from standing again.
What are your thoughts? Should councillors with convictions be allowed to try and win their seat back?
