They end up collecting in my peg bowl on the windowsill, but never get reused as the alternatives are much better. There are probably millions of these going to landfill every week. Enough to cover a football field or two. These tags are totally unnecessary. Date and batch numbers can be printed on the bags and compostable paper ties used instead.Being light and portable, like plastic shopping bags, they are also an item most likely to end up in the ocean. As bite sized pieces, which float, and bob along nicely, they then become fodder for fish. Also, while bread manufacturers are reviewing their packaging options, what about making the bread bags home compostable? Corn starch bags for bread would be fine and these can actually be reused once or twice before making it to the compost heap. Lets all suggest to the supermarkets that they get rid of plastic bread tags and display bread in compostable bags.

DETAILS: 200000 ish Ks I will update later. We are now not really using it. Good reliable car with plenty of power when you want it. Good tyres, F1's all round and a fairly new battery. Small ding here and there but nothing major. Other than that it's always been garaged and is tidy inside.
Current WOF. REG till August.
Price: $5,250

This weeks pick for top product is Harraways Organic Rolled Oats. Bagged in paper and only a couple of dollars more than the non organic version, they are great value for money and very environmentally friendly. Great nutty taste too. I use them in muesli and most baking.

PS - for those who raised the important point about waxed paper in my post supporting Much Moores Ice Cream 1 litre cardboard pack: I found that by soaking the cardboard briefly the brown backing easily peeled off. I put this in my home compost where it seems to be breaking down fine, and sent the rest of the cardboard to the recycle bin.

How come both Levin and Masterton have independent listings and commentary on TV1's weather report, while Kapiti is lumped in with Wellington, 70 kms away and with a very different weather pattern. Previously when Kapiti WAS mentioned, the angle on the map was so skewed it was impossible to read the temperatures. All in all, we get very poor service from one news in Kapiti. I dont bother to watch any more and go to metservice on my phone, much more informative.

So happy to meet so many of you and upgrade your old lights so far.
There are many positives to upgrading, but for me the biggest difference is new LED downlights are air tight, instead of the old ones that have to have an air gap and a gap of insulation because they make so much heat. Resulting in multiple spots in a ceiling for the heat (or cool) from inside your home to escape greatly reducing your homes insulation. (See the photos below).
Other reasons to upgrade.
1. Led lights are 85% more efficient✔️
2. Better light spread (lights your house better.✔️
3. No need to change a bulb (these lights are long life)✔️
4. They add value to your home✔️
5. Safe (they don't generate dangerous amounts of heat like halogen lights) ✔️
6. Stylish and low profile✔️
Happy to come round and give you a free quote and advice on what is the best option for your household.
