Online Shopping warning

The Team from New Zealand Police

As we come up to the festive season, a lot of us want to shop online and look for good bargains ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐Ÿ›’

Hereโ€™s a few tips to help you stay safe, avoid buying stolen property, and not get taken advantage of:
๐Ÿ’ธIf it is too good to be true, it probably is, or it could be stolen property.
๐Ÿ’ธIf itโ€™s being sold as new, ask for the receipt for the warranty. If they canโ€™t provide it, thatโ€™s a red flag.
๐Ÿ’ธCheck the sellerโ€™s profile, is it new or relatively blank?
๐Ÿ’ธIf you make a purchase and need to meet somebody to get it, choose somewhere well-lit and well populated in public, near CCTV. If it has to be somebodyโ€™s home, take someone with you and let someone else know where youโ€™re going and when.
๐Ÿ’ธBe especially cautious when buying power tools or high-end toy brick building block sets.

Sadly, if you unknowingly buy stolen property, youโ€™re aiding criminals and inadvertently supporting them to steal more.
If you find a suspect listing or social media scam, call 105, or report it with us online at 105.police.govt.nz

What's your favourite tomato recipe?

Mei Leng Wong Reporter from NZ Gardener & Get Growing

Kia ora neighbours. We know your tomato plants are still growing, but we're looking ahead to the harvest already! If you've got a family recipe for tomatoes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine to share with our readers. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our February 2025 issue.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesnโ€™t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
