Books to read while in lockdown
Good day everyone. For the readers amongst us and those who are interested in trying it while stuck at home. Your local library has lots of ebooks and audio books and digital magazines, newspapers and related content.
citylibrary.pncc.govt.nz...
Most require a library card and pin. If you've lost yours or it needs updating - direct message them on Facebook www.facebook.com... and they will hook you up. If you're in the wider Manawatu District Council area - reach out to Manawatu District Libraries via website or Facebook for the same help. Be patient and I'm sure someone will get back to you. Manawatu Libraries you can sign up for a digital only card, I don;t know if PN Library offers this sorry.
Another alternative is www.gutenberg.org...
This site has a lifetime of free ebooks all for the taking. These are much older books so out of copyright. No Lee Child there I'm sorry. But Dracula, Little Women, Sherlock Holmes, Huckleberry Finn and others are available.
Or check out sites like www.smashwords.com...
This is a site where authors can publish their own books. Many are for sale obviously but there are many free titles. Authors often give away the first book in a series free for example.
Most of this content can be viewed on a tablet, iPad, iPhone, Android phone or laptop/chromebook.
Stay home and stay safe everyone.
