Thank you to both our customers and wonderful volunteers
Thanks for your custom this year. Food Together Awapuni (Manawatu) is all about providing fresh affordable fruit and veges to our local community and making connections within our community. Especially at St Matthews we love being able to connect and chat to those who pick up their orders each week. We delight in being able to greet most of you by name when you walk in the door. It has also been great for me to meet some of the hospital and Te Tihi customers and make a connection when I have been visiting those pick up points.
Our volunteers are also a vital part of Food Together. They are a caring special group of people and it was heart warming for me to see 20 of them arrive to pack your orders last week. As a group, we particularly look forward to a delicious morning tea, provided by Chrissie each week, and to sit and chat together after packing is completed.
Small electrical job
I have a ceramic lamp base that I’d like to be made in to a lamp. Anyone out there that can do the job?
Thank you!
What's your favourite recipe for courgettes?
Kia ora neighbours. If you've got a family recipe for courgettes, we'd love to see it and maybe publish it in our magazine. Send your recipe to mailbox@nzgardener.co.nz, and if we use it in the mag, you will receive a free copy of our January 2025 issue.
Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?
The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.
This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
