Veggie Plants Waikanae and Otaki Markets This WeekendLast chance for summer/autumn crops

Val from Otaki District

Last chance for summer/autumn crops:
Red, yellow and purple Capsicum
Cucumbers, several different varieties (the ones we planted this week have doubled in size already - they are loving these conditions)
Spring onions
Zucchini and Kumi Kumi
Special on our remaining Kumara: $2.00 each or 8 for $10. Happy to provide growing tips if you haven't tried these before.
And think PESTO: We have green Genoese Basil, plus Purple Ruffles, Thai Queen and Aristotle (Greek basil). Basil is a great companion plant for tomatoes, as are our Marigolds for keeping the bugs away.

Poll: Is it rude to talk on the phone on a bus?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Buses can be a relaxing way to get home if you have a seat and enough space. However, it can be off-putting when someone is taking a phone call next to you.

Do you think it's inconsiderate for people to have lengthy phone calls on a bus? Vote in the poll, and add your comments below.

80 years ago:

Paul from Levin

About 80 years ago I was taking photographs with a Kodak Box Camera including the 2 uploaded photos of the house where we were living in Epson, Auckland. The ground floor walls were built with stones and the washhouse had no windows so it was perfect for developing film and printing photos. And 80 years later I still enjoy taking photos, even without the Box Camera😁. The house was destroyed to be replaced by apartments. It feels like a part of me has been stolen and destroyed.😦😦
