Heirloom Tomato Plants and Other Vegetables
All loaded up for the Waikanae and Otaki Markets at the weekend. Many tomato varieties still available, including low-acid varieties, different coloured cherries and some suitable for container growing. It's not too late to plant and our experience is that we get excellent crops well into autumn and early winter from plants planted out in December and early January.
Last chance for Cucumbers and Pumpkin. The Cucumber plants are looking amazing, strong and healthy and ready to go: Lebanese, Telegraph, Crystal Apple, Poona Keera and the very prolific NZ heirloom, Port Albert.
Herbs: Basil, Parsley, Mint and some sprigs of fresh Sage for the Christmas stuffing.
Also Capsicum, Hot Chillies, a limited number of Eggplants and punnets of Beans.
Spray-free lemons and limes picked today, as well as walnuts.
