Are you missing any pets after the storm?
Hi neighbours,
Are any of your beloved pets missing after the tornado, thunderstorms and wild weather that hit New Plymouth this week?
The SPCA has received multiple messages from concerned residents about missing pets, especially in the suburb of Westown - which was where the brunt of the storm hit. Jackie Poles Smith, from the SPCA, advised residents to make sure animals were microchipped. And if you've got any potential warning of a storm, to keep your animals safe inside in the quietest part of the house.
Are you missing a pet? Has someone else's pet turned up at your house? Have a chat to your neighbours! We hope they come home soon!

Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
