Shark tales - what sea creatures have you been up close and personal with?
A shark spotted on an Abel Tasman National Park beach had spectators amazed and swimmers dashing for dry land. Tom Mills was up from Christchurch enjoying a time on Whariwharangi Beach with family when they saw what they believed to be a Bronze Whaler shark close to shore. Have you had a close encounter with any marine animals this summer? Tell us below of your experiences.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
